PM Modi dedicates Rs 11,200 crore worth projects in poll-bound Maharashtra

NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday laid the foundation stone , inaugurated and dedicated various projects in the poll-bound Maharashtra worth about Rs 11,200 crore, through video conferencing.

The Prime Minister inaugurated the Pune Metro section of District Court to Swargate which will also marked the completion of Pune Metro Rail Project (Phase-1). The cost of the underground section between the District Court to Swargate was around Rs 1,810 crore.

Prime Minister laid the foundation stone for the Swargate-Katraj extension of Pune Metro Phase-1, a project valued at approximately Rs 2,955 crore. This southern extension, spanning about 5.46 km, will be entirely underground with three stations: Market Yard, Padmavati, and Katraj.

Additionally, the Prime Minister dedicated the Bidkin Industrial Area to the nation, a transformative initiative covering 7,855 acres under the National Industrial Corridor Development Program. Situated 20 km south of Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar in Maharashtra, this project is part of the Delhi-Mumbai Industrial Corridor . With a total cost of over Rs 6,400 crore, the project will be developed in three phases and promises to be a vibrant economic hub in the Marathwada region.

In his brief address, the Prime Minister said the importance of balancing modernization with India’s core values, stating, "India should be modern and modernized, while upholding its rich heritage with pride."

He also inaugurated Solapur Airport , enhancing connectivity for tourists, business travelers, and investors. The upgraded terminal building can now serve approximately 4.1 lakh passengers annually. Speaking on the occasion, the Prime Minister noted that the airport's expansion will provide direct air connectivity to Solapur, making it easier for devotees of Lord Vitthal to visit the city
