NEW DELHI: Tamil Nadu chief minister M K Stalin's son, Udhayanidhi Stalin was promoted to deputy chief minister of Tamil Nadu on Saturday while three other DMK MLAs took the oath of office as minister as part of the cabinet reshuffle.
Tamil Nadu governor administered oath of office and secrecy to R Rajendran (Salem-North), Govi Chezhiaan (Thiruvidaimarudur) and S M Nasar (Avadi) in a simple ceremony held at the Raj Bhavan.
DMK leader Senthil Balaji, who was recently released on bail by the Supreme Court after spending 15 months in jail, was also reinstated as minister for electricity and minister for prohibition and excise. Additionally, higher education minister K Ponmudy has now become forest minister.
Meanwhile, three ministers Mano Thangaraj, Gingee Masthan and K Ramachandran were dropped from the cabinet.
