LADWA: As voting progresses in Haryana , chief minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday exuded confidence in BJP 's victory and said that Lotus will bloom for the third time in the state.

"The wind is in BJP's favour, BJP government is being formed for the third time in Haryana and lotus will bloom in Ladwa with a big margin," Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini said while speaking to the media.

In response to Congress 's claim that they would surpass 70 seats, Saini remarked, "No one can stop Congress from dreaming. They also dreamed in Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh, but they should reflect on their work and recognize how they have become an obstacle to development. The people of the state are aware of how they have insulted Dalits."

Hitting out at the Congress party, earlier in the day, Saini said that the promises made by the party were not concrete.

"I want to appeal to the people of Haryana to cast 100% votes. Under the leadership of PM Modi, we will work to develop Haryana, just the way we have done in the last 10 years. I want to say to the people of the state that you cast your votes and PM Modi and we will guarantee the development of the state...The promises of Congress are not concrete. They have lost the support of the people...Congress' intention is clear that they want to finish reservations. They are anti-reservation and anti-poor," he said

This election is a high-stakes battle as the BJP is eyeing a third straight term to power in the state, the Congress party is aiming to wrest back power riding on anti-incumbency and issues of farmer protests and wrestler protests.

The key contesting parties in Haryana include the BJP, Congress, and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), as well as the pre-poll alliance between the Indian National Lok Dal-Bahujan Samaj Party (INLD-BSP) and the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP)-Azad Samaj Party (ASP).

The results for the Haryana Assembly elections will be declared along with those of Jammu and Kashmir on October 8.

In the 2019 Assembly elections, the BJP won 40 of the 90 seats, forming a coalition government with the JJP, which won 10 seats. The Congress secured 31 seats. However, JJP later broke out of the coalition.
