Two Agniveers were killed on Thursday when a shell from an Indian field gun exploded during a training exercise at the Artillery Centre in Nashik , Maharashtra.
The incident took place on Thursday afternoon in the Nashik Road area, according to police.
The Agniveers, identified as 20 year-old Gohil Vishwaraj Singh, and 21-year-old Saifat were involved in the practice session. A shell exploded during the firing exercise, causing injuries to both individuals.
They were transported to MH Hospital in Deolali, where medical staff declared them dead.
Following a complaint by Havildar Ajit Kumar, authorities have registered a case of accidental death at the Deolali Camp police station. Police are investigating the incident.
