Vitla: A ruckus by local politicians at the Revenue Inspector’s office in Vitla has led to a broken glass table. As the situation began to escalate, the police arrived at the scene and restored order.
Veerakamba resident Sheikh Shiban had recently constructed a new house on government land and applied to regularize the property under Section 94C. During the inspection, revenue officials noted that the house was within a specified distance from the forest land, requiring additional clearance from the Forest Department.
Following the officials’ refusal to approve the application, a politician accompanied by supporters visited the Revenue Inspector’s office and questioned the officials, allegedly hitting the table in anger and shattering its glass surface. Vitla police, alerted to the incident, arrived on-site and dispersed the crowd.
