Dubai : There’s a top-level reshuffle at the ICC Men’s Test Player Rankings with India pacer Jasprit Bumrah moving back to the numero uno rank among bowlers.

Ashwin took five wickets of his own on the day and is one point shy of Bumrah’s rating at 870 points, and Bangladesh will be buoyed by the improvements made from Mehidy Hasan, who moved up four places to 18th, and veteran spinner Shakib Al Hasan, who rose five places to 28th.

Sri Lanka spinner Prabath Jayasuriya gained a new career-high rating as he rose one place to equal seventh on the Test bowling ranks on the back of his Player of the Series exploits against New Zealand, but this week’s rankings update belongs to India following their series sweep over Bangladesh that puts them in the box seat of reaching next year’s ICC World Test Championship final.

India ensured of further movement up the rung at the top of the World Test Championship standings with victory over Bangladesh and remain well positioned to make the final for a third successive season.

Opener Yashaswi Jaiswal was declared Player of the Match in the rain affected Test against Bangladesh, and the left-hander touched a new career-high rating when jumping two places to third on the updated Test batter rankings as a result of his scores of 72 and 51 from the clash.

It means Jaiswal is only behind England’s Joe Root and New Zealand’s Kane Williamson on the list of updated rankings for Test batters, while teammate Virat Kohli is back inside the top 10 after he gained six places to move to sixth overall following scores of 47 and 29 not out against Bangladesh.

Another on the move is in-form Sri Lanka right-hander Kamindu Mendis, who improves five places to 11th and reaches a new career-high rating after he scored another century in the second Test of his side’s recent series with New Zealand.

The Test batter rankings have moved in support of several Sri Lanka players. Compatriots Dinesh Chandimal moves six places up to 20th, and Angelo Mathews is up four places to 23rd. In the Test all-rounder rankings, Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan is up two places to fifth as India’s Ravindra Jadeja maintained his healthy lead on top.

There were a few changes on the latest white-ball rankings, as Australia’s Steve Smith gained one place to move to 20th on the list for ODI batters following the completion of his side’s series against England.

The first from England, Harry Brook advanced 73 places to 50th, while his teammate Ben Duckett hopped up 30 places to 54th for batters. The other notable improvements on the list of ODI bowlers belonged to team members Adil Rashid and Jofra Archer. Rashid advanced four places to reach the 24th position, while Archer hopped up 16 places to 40th.

South Africa dasher Reeza Hendricks has risen to 11th for all-rounders in the latest T20I rankings, while Nepal star Dipendra Singh Airee has added another new career-high rating on the list for all-rounders as he moves up four slots to second.
