Skoda Octavia RS to Make a Comeback at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025

Send Push

Skoda Auto India is revving up to unveil the Octavia RS, a model cherished by automotive enthusiasts, at the upcoming Bharat Mobility Expo in January 2025. Sharing the spotlight with the Kylaq subcompact SUV, Skoda’s new-generation Octavia RS promises to be a head-turner, marking the start of what’s shaping up to be a milestone year for the brand.

Skoda Octavia RS at Bharat Mobility Expo: A Potential Market Return?

Peter Janeba, Brand Director of Skoda Auto India, has confirmed that the Octavia RS will make an appearance at the Bharat Mobility Expo, offering Indian consumers a close look at the high-performance sedan. However, Skoda is using the opportunity to gauge interest in the model before making a final decision on bringing it to Indian showrooms. If it does reach Indian buyers, the Octavia RS would be imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), potentially positioning it at a premium price.

Power and Precision: Octavia RS Engine Specifications

The Octavia RS, known for its superb performance across generations, is set to impress with a potent 2.0-litre TSI engine delivering 260 bhp and 370 Nm of peak torque. The engine employs a Budack combustion cycle, improving fuel efficiency without compromising its thrill factor. Coupled with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission, the RS also sits 15 mm lower than the standard Octavia, enhancing its sporty dynamics and handling. Notably, an electronic limited-slip differential adds to its appeal, providing heightened control on spirited drives.

Aesthetic Appeal with an Aggressive Edge

The Octavia RS boasts a sleek yet sporty exterior, featuring a blacked-out grille, larger air intakes, and unique alloy wheels. Additional touches like black-finished exhaust pipes contribute to its aggressive appeal, especially when the engine roars to life in Sport mode. It’s a subtle but definitive statement of power, hinting at what lies under the hood.

Price Expectations and Launch Timeline

Should Skoda bring the Octavia RS to India, it will likely sit in the premium segment, with an expected price tag in the ₹50-55 lakh range (ex-showroom) due to its CBU import status. While this is a steep price point, the Octavia RS is expected to justify it with high-performance features and exclusive design elements. More details will emerge closer to the Bharat Mobility Expo, as Skoda evaluates the model’s fit in the Indian market.

Skoda’s Comprehensive Display at Bharat Mobility Expo 2025

Alongside the Octavia RS, Skoda will likely display its complete lineup at the event, including anticipated launches like the new-generation Kodiaq and Superb. The Bharat Mobility Expo promises a comprehensive showcase from Skoda Auto India, highlighting their commitment to the Indian market with a blend of innovation, performance, and style.

With the potential reintroduction of the Octavia RS, Skoda fans and performance enthusiasts alike are eagerly anticipating a thrilling start to the new year.
