Samsung yesterday unveiled its update on the smartphones and other devices at the Samsung Developer Conference 2024 held in San Jose, California, on Thursday. South Korean technology conglomerate provides a glimpse of its future face by introducing a completely new redesign interface of its OS along with new design elements and some other additions. It also provided the anticipated time table related to One UI 7, including the release for registered beta testers and the first Samsung device that will be powered by it.

According to Samsung, three core goals are put into its One UI 7 update: Purposeful simplicity, signature impression, and emotional attachment. The company says that its One UI 7 has been designed for the understanding of what the user is trying to do and to minimize the complexity. Its design has been streamlined for a cleaner look and to bring in more consistency.

But One UI 7 will retain some of the more typical signature design elements of the Samsung Android skin with which Galaxy users have been familiar for years. The latest is a new blur system designed to improve user satisfaction. A new home screen grid was also teased by the smartphone manufacturer among its features previews; it was described as “slicker” and easier to work with, regardless of the Galaxy device in which it will be deployed.

One UI 7 is going to bring Android 15 to Samsung smartphones. In fact, the next-generation Android operating system (OS) was made globally available last month, although only a few original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) have rolled out the new OS for their gadgets yet. Samsung confirmed that One UI 7 will support Good Lock, thus offering more avenues for customisation in a similar way as One UI 6, the latest software version.

One UI 7 Update Release Date

Samsung says One UI 7 will roll out in beta to Galaxy devices later this year, the official version to land for all users next year. The first devices that will come with One UI 7 are also the next Samsung Galaxy S series. That is likely to be the Galaxy S25 series, rumored to launch in early 2025.
