Vi Surprises Market by Reintroducing ₹719 Plan, Challenges Jio and Airtel with New Twist

Send Push

In a move that’s causing a stir among India’s telecom giants, Vodafone Idea (Vi) has reintroduced its ₹719 recharge plan—but with a twist. As Jio, Airtel, and Vi recently raised their tariffs by up to 15%, Vi’s revamped plan is a bold response in the ongoing telecom battle. The reintroduction of the ₹719 plan, especially at a time when subscribers are feeling the pinch of higher tariffs, has added new dynamics to the market. Here’s a closer look at what makes Vi’s ₹719 plan stand out, and how it compares to the pricier ₹859 plan.

Vi ₹719 Recharge Plan: What’s Included?

The Vi ₹719 plan offers unlimited voice calling and 1GB of daily data for its customers. Once the daily data cap is reached, speeds drop to 64 Kbps under the Fair Usage Policy (FUP), ensuring continued connectivity. Previously, this plan provided 84 days of service with 1.5GB of daily data, along with the popular Vi Hero Unlimited benefits.

However, the reintroduced ₹719 plan comes with a change—Vi Hero Unlimited benefits are no longer included. Customers who enjoyed these perks may feel the difference, yet the plan’s competitive pricing makes it an attractive option for those prioritizing affordability.

Comparing ₹719 and ₹859: Choosing the Right Plan

For users seeking more, Vi’s ₹859 plan offers additional services that justify the price difference. This plan comes with 12 more days of validity and a higher daily data allowance, alongside the Vi Hero Unlimited benefits that include data rollover and weekend data boosts. At ₹140 more, the ₹859 plan provides enhanced features for those willing to invest a bit extra.

The 5G Rollout: Vi Prepares for Launch

As the 5G race heats up, Vi is gearing up to join the 5G revolution alongside Jio and Airtel, which have already rolled out their services across large parts of India. Jagbir Singh, Vi’s Chief Technology Officer, recently confirmed that the company’s 5G network is on the horizon, with an official launch scheduled for March next year. The initial rollout will cover 17 major regions, starting with Delhi and Mumbai, followed by other metropolitan cities.

While Singh acknowledges that Vi is slightly behind in the 5G race, he emphasizes that the network is ready to meet demand and compete with Jio and Airtel. The company’s deliberate, carefully planned approach signals that Vi aims to enter the market with a stable and efficient 5G service.

A Bold Comeback Amid Competitive Pressures

The reintroduction of the ₹719 plan signals Vi’s determination to keep pace in an increasingly competitive telecom market. In an era where users are looking for affordability without compromising quality, Vi’s revamped plan offers a valuable choice—keeping customers connected while respecting their budgets. As the countdown to Vi’s 5G launch begins, all eyes are on the brand to see how it reshapes its services and continues challenging industry heavyweights.

With this strategic play, Vi is standing strong, reasserting its commitment to providing customers with flexible options at competitive prices. As India’s telecom landscape evolves, Vi’s moves suggest that the company is here to stay and fight for its place in the market.
