Xiaomi's HyperConnect Feature Brings Seamless File Sharing with Apple Devices

Send Push

Xiaomi is pushing the boundaries of cross-platform compatibility with its latest HyperConnect feature, now showcased in action by CEO Lei Jun. Debuting with HyperOS 2 on the Xiaomi 15 and 15 Pro in China, HyperConnect promises a new level of interoperability with Apple devices, including iPhones, iPads, and MacBooks.

HyperConnect: A Glimpse into the Future of Cross-Platform File Sharing

In a recent video posted on X, Lei Jun demonstrated HyperConnect’s seamless file-sharing capabilities, transferring a photo from the Xiaomi 15 Pro to various Apple devices with a single tap. The Apple products appear directly in the share menu on the Xiaomi 15 Pro, enabling quick and easy file sharing. While it seems an initial setup may be needed, this feature looks to simplify the sharing process for Xiaomi users who also own Apple products.

HyperConnect isn’t limited to photo sharing; Lei Jun also demonstrated that Apple Keynote files can be opened directly on the Xiaomi 15 Pro. Beyond file sharing, the feature enables screen mirroring from the Xiaomi device to a MacBook, adding versatility to Xiaomi’s cross-platform capabilities. Operating over a shared Wi-Fi network, HyperConnect brings practical solutions for users who navigate between ecosystems.

Xiaomi’s Vision: Uniting Ecosystems with HyperConnect

Xiaomi’s commitment to a seamless experience across devices extends beyond mobile. Lei Jun noted that Xiaomi aimed to make its ecosystem compatible with Apple devices due to the growing demand from users of Xiaomi’s first EV, the Xiaomi SU7, who are predominantly Apple device owners. This insight has fueled Xiaomi’s dedication to bridging compatibility gaps, with HyperConnect as the latest step toward uniting Xiaomi and Apple devices.

While HyperConnect is currently exclusive to HyperOS 2 in China, Xiaomi’s move aligns with recent efforts by brands like OnePlus, which also introduced a similar sharing function with OxygenOS 15. However, unlike OnePlus’s feature, which requires iPhone users to install an app, Xiaomi’s HyperConnect appears more streamlined, positioning Xiaomi at the forefront of effortless cross-platform integration.

As Xiaomi explores global availability, HyperConnect signals the brand’s ambition to enhance user experiences across platforms and ecosystems, providing users the freedom to share, mirror, and access files in ways previously unimagined.
