Xiaomi launched HyperOS last October, alongside the new Xiaomi 14 line, as a substitute to its traditional MIUI skin. Now, it seems like the company is testing the second version of its proprietary Android overlay, termed HyperOS 2.0, on some devices. Xiaomi has not declared any release date for HyperOS 2.0 using Android 15, but some internal user interface builds have started coming out in some Xiaomi and Redmi smartphones – next in line, likely to see these builds first being the Xiaomi 15 and Xiaomi 15 Pro.

The report cites GizmoChina, saying the website leaks internal builds of HyperOS 2.0 for Xiaomi 15 and with firmware OS2.0.1.5.VOCCNXM and OS2.0.1.2.VOBCNXM. The publication also published an image of the testing version installed on a Xiaomi smartphone.
Alleged internal builds of firmware for Xiaomi 14, Xiaomi 14 Pro, and Xiaomi 14 Ultra have firmware OS2.0.0.24.VNCCNXM, OS2.0.0.22.VNBCNXM, and OS2.0.0.16.VNACNXM, respectively.

The company hasn’t announced the release schedule of HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15, but according to the report, it seems that the early update might arrive for these Xiaomi devices first, namely Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Xiaomi Mix Fold, Xiaomi Mix Flip, Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro, Xiaomi Civi 2.

The source indicates that internal tests of HyperOS 2.0 on the Redmi K70, Redmi K70 Pro, Redmi K70 Ultra, Redmi K60, Redmi K70E, Redmi Note 13 Pro 5G, and Redmi Note 13R are now under way.

HyperOS 2.0 Features (Expected)

HyperOS 2.0 will reportedly be released sometime later this month in China. The first HyperOS was announced to be released in China last October 2023. It was the initial release on the Xiaomi 14 series. Updates with the new interface came to India early this year 2024.

The HyperOS 2.0 promises a host of other new features and AI-enabled functionalities for Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco smartphones. It also promises an overhauled Game Turbo mode that will be personalization-friendly. Now, the package could also throw in some optimisation tools to boost gaming performance. This beta version is likely going to support hidden camera detection too through WLAN searches.
