Fifteen years ago, Vipul Roy hosted Sa Re Ga Ma Pa Mega Challenge. Soon after that, he got busy with his acting assignments and hosting took a back seat. But he’s excited now to return to hosting Sa Re Ga Ma Pa 2024.
Vipul says, “I started as a contestant on India’s Best Cinestar Ki Khoj and then got into hosting. But acting was also on my mind because I had done theatre. So, all these years, I was busy with TV shows like F.I.R , Sahib Biwi Aur Boss and Partners Trouble Ho Gayi among others. When you’re shooting for a daily soap, it is difficult to take up any other project. But now, I am thrilled to be back as a reality TV show host.”
Talking about the show, he says, “We have all watched Sa Re Ga Ma Pa as kids and it is even more special for me because I was a part of it in 2009. Life has come a full circle.”
Talking about his career, he says, “Sustaining in showbiz is not easy, but I’m happy with the way my career has shaped up. Hits and flops are not in my hand... I’m just here to do my best.”
‘My wife has been my biggest support’
On the personal front, Vipul tied the knot with long-time girlfriend Melis Atici in 2021 and they had their baby, Iris, in 2022. The couple has been in a long-distance marriage with Melis living in San Francisco. He says, “It’s not easy, but we’ve been managing. Melis has been very understanding and supports me in my career. Currently, she isn’t working there, so the two are in India and we are spending quality time together.”
