Strictly Come Dancing is shaking things up with a major twist this season.

The One dance extravaganza celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, and now it's going to get even more iconic! The pre-recorded launch episode set the stage, introducing this year's crop of celebs to their pro partners and featuring an "empowering" performance in honour of Amy Dowden's comeback following her battle with breast cancer.

With the competition now in full swing, two pairs have already been sent packing after Movie Week - the first themed week of the series. As revealed on the Strictly companion show It Takes Two on Wednesday evening (October 9), a new theme week is joining the line-up to mark two decades of dazzling dances.

'Icons Week' is set to make its debut next month, promising to be a permanent addition to the series. During this special week, the remaining couples will strut their stuff to tracks from some of the most legendary figures in music history, reports .

Come Saturday, November 2, the Strictly stage will be alight with performances paying homage to iconic musicians, celebrating their influence through the art of dance across various eras. The specific icons, dances, and tunes will be announced in time.

Other themed weeks on Strictly, following the crowd-pleasing Movie Week, include the much-anticipated Blackpool week, where the show takes a trip to the legendary Blackpool Tower ballroom for a one-off extravaganza, as well as a week dedicated to Musicals.

In a first for the show, 'Icons Week' will make its grand entrance during the results show on Sunday November 3. Strictly's gifted professional dancers are preparing to wow with a stunning medley.

Johannes Radebe is set to steal the spotlight, embodying Sasha Fierce as the lead in the performance, complete with "bejewelled cowboy hats, power ballad moves and sparkling sass", so viewers should brace themselves for an unforgettable show.
