One of the best horror movies of 2019 has just landed on for viewers to stream, just in time for spooky season.

Released on March 22, the Jordan Peele-directed psychological horror boasts a stellar 93% critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

Starring Hollywood heavy hitters, including Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o, Winston Duke and Elisabeth Moss, Us follows a trippy doppelgänger tale.

As a child, Adelaide Thomas (Nyong'o) wanders away from her family and comes face to face with her look-alike in a funhouse mirror. Decades later, she goes on holiday with her husband and two kids and they are confronted by their terrifying clones, leading to a bloody fight for survival.

The film is not just a chilling horror; it also dives into deep social commentary. It can be interpreted as an allegory for America, touching on themes including privilege, racial inequality and class disparity. Five years since its release, fans are still decoding the film's hidden meanings on Reddit and .

Us marks Peele's second film, following on from his Oscar-winning directorial debut Get Out, starring Daniel Kaluuya. Get Out received praise from fans and critics and Us was no different.

For Us, Nyong'o took home several Best Actress awards including from the Hollywood Critics Association and African-American Film Critics Association. Peele took home a Best Director nod from the African-American Film Critics Association.

Movie-goers have sung the movie's praises since its debut, with many branding it a masterpiece. On the film review app, Letterboxd, one impressed viewer said: "The best horror movie of 2019, hands down."

A fourth reviewer wrote: "Jordan Peele just casually making horror masterpieces." A fifth vouched for Nyong'o's performance: "The fact that Lupita didn't even RECIEVE an Oscar nomination for her phenomenal performance in this film is my villain origin story."

Peele's untitled next film is set to be released in October 2026. The writer-director recently appeared on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon and revealed that he wants to keep audiences in 'painful suspense' about the premise of his next horror project.
