Now actor Jim Parsons, who played the iconic Sheldon Cooper, has shed some light on if he would be a part of a reboot of the sitcom.
He told Chris Wallace on Who's Talking to Chris Wallace?: "As we sit here now, no. But also I never say never to anything, because life just changes so much.
"One of the things is that it was so special as what it was and as what it is, and they call it lightning in a bottle for a reason. You can be certain [a revival] wouldn't be that, and so why would we be doing it?
"I don't know, that's that's how I feel on that right now. But like I say, God willing, life is very long."
Despite not being open to a revival of the original show, Jim executive produced and narrated the prequel series spin-off Young Sheldon and made a cameo in the finale.

The Big Bang Theory first premiered on CBS on September 24 2007 and was on air for a whopping 12 seasons and 279 episodes.
Aside from Jim, the principal cast also included Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar.
The show originally followed the five characters living in Pasadena, California as they navigated their lives.
It's first season received mixed reviews, but after critical response improved for season two and three, it slowly cemented itself as one of the most-loved sitcoms.
It was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy Series from 2011 to 2014.
Not only that, but Jim won the Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series four times, totalling seven Emmy Awards in total from a huge 46 nominations.
The Big Bang Theory will be expanding even further, as a sequel series to Young Sheldon is all set to premiere this year.
The show is titled Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage and will follow Sheldon's older brother Georgie and his wife Mandy.
Since the show ended, Jim has gone on to star in film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile as well as The Boys in the Band and Spoiler Alert.
As well as continuing to show off his acting prowess, he executive produced several television series, including Special, Hollywood and most recently, Call Me Kat.
