, the much-loved Strictly Come Dancing host, has spilled the beans on her unexpected fake tan alternative used during the filming of .

Known for her sharp wit, iconic black bob, and sun-kissed skin, Claudia, 52, has become a staple on British television, amassing an arsenal of beauty essentials for her on-screen appearances. However, while shooting the inaugural series of her reality show in 2022, she encountered a bit of a tanning crisis.

Recounting her tale on the BBC panel show Would I Lie To You?, Claudia revealed a rather embarrassing beauty blunder from the fifth episode's production. She admitted, "I didn't have my normal fake tan there because I was in the castle, so what I thought was, 'Let's just use something. I don't think I'm allowed to say a brand, but it was gravy granules."

The revelation left comedian Lee Mack intrigued, prompting him to question how she managed to procure such a culinary staple in the remote Scottish setting. Claudia responded with a laugh, "They came from a shop there are shops there and it's really good. It really works."

This quirky anecdote isn't the first instance of Claudia turning to unconventional methods to maintain her bronzed glow away from the spray tan booth. Chatting on BBC Radio 4's Women's Hour, the household icon confessed her quirky trick of using Bisto gravy, mud, and old tea bags to keep a bronzed look while being a cash-strapped student.

The mother of two firmly stated: "Everything was reused and I mean everything." On The Graham Norton Show, the TV favourite declared "There is no such thing as too orange" while discussing how she strips off her tan.

She shared a curious anecdote from her university days: "When I was at university, I got rid of the bed and hired a sunbed instead it was super cosy and I was fluorescent." Claudia candidly told a story about her preferred method for removing her tan: "I love being orange but to scrub it off I use table salt and a scourer I have asked my husband to do but it's not good for foreplay."

In comforting news to her fans, Claudia mentioned that she has since abandoned her sunbed antics in favour of safer and still unusual techniques. She emphasized: "I never get on the sunbed now. My body no longer recognises actual sun."
