Emmerdale fans have only just realised Danny Miller has a famous father.

Actor Danny shot to fame playing Aaron Dingle on the ITV soap - making his debut in 2008. And it didn’t take him long to become one of the soap’s beloved characters.

Danny’s also had his fair share of big storylines in the famous Dales - from affairs and his romance with Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) to shock murder and spending time behind bars .

And in the soap at the moment, he’s currently in an an-and-off relationship with newcomer John Sugden (Oliver Fainworth) who happens to be ex-Robert’s half-brother.

But it turns out actor Danny’s not the only entertainer in his family. His beloved father, Vince Miller, 90, also worked in the showbiz and entertainment world.

Known as the ‘king of comperes', Vince worked as the VIP host at Manchester United for almost 30 years. He also worked at Old Trafford for 29 years and often interviewed football legend, Sir Alex Ferguson.

No stranger to rubbing shoulders with famous faces throughout his 65-year career, Vince has also worked with Johnny Mathis and Shirley Bassey and even spoke at comedian Bernard Manning’s funeral.

When Vince was 82, he announced that he would be officially retiring from the showbiz and entertainment world. He told Manchester Evening News: "I’ve no upset about it, the time is now to get out while you’re on top, you don’t want people saying ‘not him again’!"

To celebrate his retirement, son Danny put together a charity bash in which he paid tribute to his dad, dubbing him the “best in the business”. On stage, Vince said: “I’ve had a great career, I’ve done it all as a presenter, comedian, singer, I’ve been very fortunate. As Edith Piaf said, Je Ne Regrette Rien, no regrets!”

Vince has also previously gushed about Danny after watching him follow in his footsteps with a career in the entertainment business. He said: “He’s doing so very well and he’s done it all himself – so now he’s up there. I’m so proud.”

And it’s fair to say fans have been left stunned over learning who Danny’s real-life father is. Reacting to a photo of the pair on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person said: “His dad is quite well known I believe round the clubs in the North West?”

Someone else replied: “Just realised who it is! Wow.” A third penned: “Immediately thought of his dad being a club singer, does anybody know?” Another person replied and told them who he was to which they said: “I thought so!”

More recently, Danny recently shared a heartbreaking social media video of him and his beloved father, who now has dementia. In the clip, the pair can be seen singing together at a party.

Danny wrote on the video: “A son and his hero singing through dementia. He remembered every word.” In he caption, he penned: “Dad, you certainly did it your way. Happy 90th Pal. One to treasure... and still remembers every word.”
