Former Manchester United star Ravel Morrison is the latest English player to sign for a club in the second tier of the United Arab Emirates league.

Precision FC have brought in a host of British players, with more than a combined thousand League appearances between them.

But the addition of Morrison, 31, is the most eye-catching yet. The attacking midfielder has not played for two years since leaving DC United. “We are beyond excited to welcome the incredible Ravel Morrison to Precision FC!” his new club said after announcing the deal..

“This is more than a signing – it’s a statement, a game-changer for both our club and football in the UAE. Known for his electrifying talent and skill, Ravel brings world-class experience and flair that will help our team to achieve its goals. This is the start of something extraordinary.”

Another United academy graduate, goalkeeper Max Johnstone, is part of the squad alongside ex-Burnley stalwart Matt Lowton.

Football League journeyman Ben Pringle, Tottenham academy graduate Emmanuel Sonupe, Northern Ireland international Jamie Ward and former QPR and Huddersfield Town defender Joel Lynch are among those to have also put pen to paper for the club.

Precision are managed by Sonny Cobb, a former Brighton youth team captain who moved to Dubai after retiring in his mid-20s. The club is Morrison's 14th of a career that began with huge promise, including Sir Alex Ferguson describing him as one of the most talented young players he had seen.

Ex-United Under 18s coach Paul McGuinness was similarly effusive in praise for Morrison, comparing his raw natural ability to Lionel Messi. “He was an amazing player,” McGuinness told the club's official podcast.

”The best way was to create a game where his stuff would come out. If you start telling him what to do, he wasn't going to be having it, you know? It was like Messi. He'd wait for you, wait for you to go closer and closer. Close to the fire, without getting burnt and get close, then he just play."

But a number of off-field issues stymied his growth and after flickers of stardust during a spell at West Ham he moved down the divisions. He also featured for Serie A giants Lazio, ADO den Haag in the Netherlands, Swedish club Ostersunds and Mexican club Atlas.
