The beloved competition returned last month and fans have been locked in with this year's stars' incredible talent. On Saturday, the contestants and their professional dance partners came dressed up for Movie Night and the show opened up with a group dance from the professionals.
Over the years, they paid homage to , James Bond and Barbie. This year, for some reason, their opening number was inspired by none other than the box office hit, Despicable Me. The stars transformed into the iconic Minion characters, painted head to toe in yellow as some rocked dungarees and others rocked maid outfits.
Kai Widdrington had the honour of performing as villain Gru - who is voiced by Steve Carrell in the movies. Fans were left concerned about the sequence and rushed to social media to share their thoughts. One user said: "I can't tell if this is comedic gold or nightmare fuel," while another posted: "Let’s never do that again, alright? Cheers."

Some thought the number was incredible, with one posting: "One of the most fun professional dances yet," while another delighted Strictly viewer commented: "This minions routine is genuinely the most unhinged thing I have ever laid eyes upon and I cannot help but stan."
After the professional dancers showed off their movies, Toyah Wilcox and Neil Jones came up to showcase their Samba to The Little Mermaid's Poor Unfortunate Souls. “I love your performance and the fact you always give 100%,” Shirley told Toyah after the performance.
Comedian Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell impressed fans with a jive to the Wayne's World Theme. Before taking to the dancefloor, Chris said: "We are hoping to incorporate a lot of the feel and comedy of the film into our dance. We’re hoping to get away with a few for people of a certain age to recognise."

Wynne Evans and Katya Jones danced the Cha Cha (in incredible outfits) to Papa's Got A Brand New Bag from Mrs Doubtfire. Punam Krishan and Gorka Márquez danced to Bole Chudiyan from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham with an impressive Bollywood routine. and Michelle Tsiakkas closed Movie Week with a Quickstep to I'm Still Standing from Rocketman.
