7th Pay Commission DA Hike Update: Big news for 1 crore central employees and pensioners. There is an expectation of an increase in dearness allowance (DA) for central government employees. But will the government announce a 4% increase in DA today on the first day of Navratri?

If this happens, DA will increase to 54 percent. This year in March 2024, the government had increased the dearness allowance by 4%, after which DA increased to 50%. The government can increase DA by 3-4% this time. The government reviews DA every six months, after which DA is increased. This increase is announced in March and October but it is considered applicable from January and July. It is expected that the government may announce an increase in DA in Navratri.

Under the 7th Pay Commission, the salary will increase by this much due to the increase in DA in October.

This potential DA increase can be a big relief given the pressure of inflation. The formula for DA revision is based on the 12-month average of the All India Consumer Price Index (AICPI). If there is a 3% increase, then the employees whose basic salary is ₹ 18,000 will get monthly DA increased from ₹ 9,000 to ₹ 9,540. If there is a 4% increase in DA, then DA can reach ₹ 9,720.

1 crore employees and pensioners will benefit from the increase in DA

DA is an important part of the salary package for central government employees and pensioners, which is directly linked to inflation. Dearness Relief is also increased for pensioners on this basis. However, talks are also going on regarding the 8th Pay Commission. The government's focus is currently on inflation control and DA hike, which will provide relief to employees and pensioners. This year's DA hike is likely to be announced in October, which will provide financial relief to employees during the festive season. 1 crore central government employees and pensioners will benefit from the DA hike.
