Patna (Bihar) [India], September 30 (ANI): Union Minister Nityanand Rai on Monday criticised Tejashwi Yadav for failing to control crime and said that the state and Central government are taking steps to manage floods in Bihar.
Speaking to reporters, he said, "When Tejashwi Yadav manages to control his RJD goons, then crime in the state will reduce."
"Bihar government is strict towards crime and criminals. In Lalu ji's time, criminals used to get protection; today, criminals get punishment...The CM is overseeing everything; State government and Central government are alert about the flood situation in the state and all necessary steps will be taken," he added.
Earlier on Sunday, MoS for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai held a meeting with NDRF officials regarding the flood situation in Bihar.

"The flood situation in Bihar is serious. But the state and central government are keeping an eye on it. 11 NDRF teams are ready in the districts. Apart from this, 3 teams are in Bihta, 3 teams are in Varanasi and two teams are in reserve in Jharkhand," he said.
Due to incessant and heavy rains in the Terai region of Nepal, the water levels in the rivers in the district have been increasing rapidly, causing a flood-like situation in the area. Following the flood-like situation, all trains going from Jogbani to Katihar were cancelled till further orders. All trains will now be operating from Forbesganj railway station. The rivers Praman, Nuna, Lohandra, Bakra, Ratua and Sursar, which flow through the district, are in spate and the water levels of these rivers are also continuously increasing.

Earlier on September 21, Union Minister Nityanand Rai alleged that the former Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav's family 'looted' the poor after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) filed a sanction to prosecute RJD supremo in a land-for-job case."
"Lalu's family has looted the poor, took land from them in exchange for jobs, and did not even give jobs to many people. In such a situation, if no case is filed against them, will they be welcomed?" Rai said. (ANI)
