What foods are bad for your eyes:  Eyes are precious, without them life becomes dark, it is important for us to always take care of this organ and protect it from all troubles. Many of us have weak eyesight, or due to some reason we start seeing blurry. In such a situation, you should be alert immediately. It is possible that you are eating some things which are not good for the eyes at all. So let's know from nutritionist Nikhil Vats that if you want to make your vision better, then which foods will have to be avoided.

Worst Foods for Your Eyes

1. Soft drinks

Beverages like soda, energy drinks, sweet tea and lemonade contain high amounts of sugar. This increases the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease, which can cause diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. A cold drink can contain 37 grams of sugar, so be careful about how much soda you consume daily because it is weakening your eyesight.

2. Contaminated fish

There is no doubt that fish can be beneficial for our health in many ways, because it contains a lot of nutrients, but nowadays due to water pollution, mercury content is being seen in fish. This metal harms your eyes.

3. White bread

White bread and pasta products contain carbohydrates, which are digested faster than other foods. Carbohydrate-rich foods can cause chronic inflammation, a condition that has been linked to AMD. If you want to protect your eyes, stop eating white bread.

4. Packed food

In the olden days, it was more common to eat fresh fruits, but due to urban development, we are now eating more packed foods. To preserve them, a large amount of sodium is used which increases blood pressure and reduces eyesight in the long term.
