Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu of Andhra Pradesh met with Union Minister Amit Shah on Tuesday for crucial discussions on the state’s development initiatives. The meeting included talks with other prominent leaders, including Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Union Minister of Heavy Industries and Steel H.D. Kumaraswamy. One of the significant topics discussed was the potential merger of Visakha Steel Plant with the Steel Authority of India.

Earlier in the week, Naidu met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to express his gratitude for the Cabinet's approval of revised cost estimates for the Polavaram Project, as well as support for the capital city, Amaravati. During the meeting, Naidu emphasized key developmental projects for Andhra Pradesh and thanked the Prime Minister for the central government's assistance in alleviating the state’s fiscal challenges.

According to a release from the Chief Minister's Office, Naidu presented his vision for "Swarna Andhra@2047," which aligns with the Central Government's goal of a "Viksit Bharat@2047." This vision aims to transform Andhra Pradesh into a $2.4 trillion economy with a per capita income of $43,000 by the year 2047. Naidu also updated Modi on the state's financial condition and ongoing developments, requesting approval for several critical NHAI projects essential for the state's growth.

Additionally, Naidu met with Union Minister of Railways, IT, and Information and Broadcasting, Ashwini Vaishnaw, thanking him for progressing the long-pending assurance to establish a Railway Zone with Visakhapatnam as its headquarters.

Naidu's recent meetings are seen as a vital effort to enhance Andhra Pradesh's development strategies, particularly in securing central support for infrastructure projects and international funding opportunities.

On October 2, Naidu launched India’s first skill census pilot project in the Mangalagiri constituency. This initiative aims to assess skill levels through a door-to-door survey. The skill census is currently being conducted in Mangalagiri and Thullur Mandal, surveying a total of 161,421 families, including 135,914 households in Mangalagiri and 25,507 in Thullur, with the help of 675 enumerators. Various departments, including the Skill Development Department and local village secretariats, are involved in this project under the supervision of the Skill Development Headquarters.
