Devra could not even make a woman's hair dandy at the box office

Send Push

Junior NTR's most awaited film 'Devra: Part 1' hit the theatres on 27 September. A lot of hype was created before the release of the film and its pre-sales also made a very good record. But, after the release of the film, its earnings were not as expected. Especially if it is compared to Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkumar Rao's film 'Stree 2', then 'Devra' seems to be lagging behind in terms of earnings. While 'Stree 2' is performing well at the box office even on its 46th day, the Hindi version of 'Devra' is proving unsuccessful in pulling the audience to the theatres.

Jr NTR's double role and big budget

'Devra' is a high budget film in which Junior NTR is seen in a double role. Along with him, Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan are also in important roles in the film, who is making his debut in Telugu cinema with this film. Although the film's earnings were good in the first weekend, but as the days passed, the film's earnings declined.

A look at the first weekend's earnings

The Hindi version of 'Devraa' earned Rs 7.5 crore on Friday, Rs 9 crore on Saturday and Rs 11 crore on Sunday in its first weekend. However, these figures are not considered high for Telugu films, especially when such huge expectations are attached to the film. In contrast, 'Stree 2' is performing well even in its sixth week. In the sixth weekend, the film earned Rs 90 lakh on Friday, Rs 2.1 crore on Saturday and Rs 2.65 crore on Sunday.

US pre-sales record

'Devra' had set a new record during pre-sale in the US, due to which it was expected that the film would rock the box office. Jr NTR was seen in a solo film after almost 6 years, due to which there was tremendous excitement among the fans. The film collected a net of Rs 82.5 crore on the first day, but the Hindi version of the film could not even cross the Rs 10 crore mark.

The huge success of 'Stree 2'

'Stree 2' has rocked the box office since its release. The film has so far earned Rs 698.35 crore. The first weekend collection of 'Stree 2' was Rs 31.4 crore on Friday, Rs 43.85 crore on Saturday and Rs 55.9 crore on Sunday. Since the trailer launch of the film, the audience believed that after the release of 'Deevra', the earnings of 'Stree 2' would decrease, but nothing like that happened.

Earnings Comparison

Comparing the earnings of 'Deevra' and 'Stree 2', it is clear that 'Stree 2' is still very popular among the audience. At the same time, the Hindi version of 'Deevra' is proving unsuccessful in attracting the audience.
