India's cyber security agency Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a major warning about the Mozilla Firefox browser. CERT-In said that some flaws have been found in Firefox browser, Thunderbird email and ESR version, which can be exploited by hackers. If you are using these old versions, your computer and data are at risk.

Which versions are at risk?

According to CERT-In, this problem has been found in Firefox versions before 131, Thunderbird versions before 128.3 and 131, and Firefox ESR versions before 128.3 and 115.16. Users of these versions are at risk because hackers can take advantage of these flaws to compromise the security of your browser and computer.

What can hackers do?

Hackers can trick you into downloading the wrong file or send you to a fake website and steal your data. Also, they can attack your system using clickjacking. CERT-In said that hackers can also conduct denial-of-service (DoS) attacks by sending web transport requests, which will slow down your computer or server so much that it stops working.

How to stay safe

If you are using Firefox or Thunderbird, CERT-In recommends that you update your software immediately. For this you have to open the menu of your browser and then go to the 'Help' section and click on 'About Firefox' or 'About Thunderbird'. From here you can download and install the update. When the update is complete, a green checkmark will appear, indicating that your browser is now secure. It is very important to be vigilant about cyber security, especially when such vulnerabilities are exposed. If you use Firefox or Thunderbird, update your software as soon as possible to keep your computer and data safe.
