Alisson injury update as distraught Liverpool keeper 'could be out for a while'

Away manger Arne Slot spoke after Crouch, and insisted he had no qualms about throwing on Jaros for his Liverpool debut. "We trust him a lot and he wanted to go on," he said.

"He wanted playing time again. He won the league and the cup where he was in Austria last season (with Sturm Graz) so we trust him a lot and he wanted to go.

"I think today proved that we were right to give him a chance. And I think it was a really nice moment for him to come on and see the game out as well."

Slot also refused to dwell on the potential blow to Alisson, choosing instead to focus on his team's performance. "There was a period in the second half where we conceded a number of needless free-kicks and throw-ins." he said.

"But in general, is the last 10 minutes, we kept the ball really well. You need to score a second sometimes to break them mentally but although we were the dominant tram, we only won 1-0."

It's now nine wins from 10 matches in all competitions for Slot, a record for a Liverpool manager over their first 10 games in charge. Palace meanwhile, are still without a win in this top flight campaign.
