Good Morning Britain's weather presenter Laura Tobin stunned viewers with her youthful looks as she celebrated a significant birthday on the show.

During Thursday's episode, presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls took a moment to celebrate Laura's special day, revealing that she had turned 43.

Ed Balls, 57, went the extra mile by baking a bespoke weather-themed birthday cake for Laura, which he proudly presented on air, much to her joy.

The birthday girl exclaimed: "I feel like I don't want to eat it but I obviously will! I actually had to count on my fingers and figure out what year it is and what year I was born to figure out I'm 43 today!" Her colleagues were quick to compliment her, saying she looked "fantastic".

Laura also shared her happiness, saying: "Thank you and happy birthday to my brother as well!" with Susanna responding warmly: "Lovely stuff, happy birthday Laura!", reports .

Viewers were left in disbelief over Laura's age, flocking to Twitter, now X, to express their amazement. One viewer commented: "It wouldn't have surprised me if it was Laura's 33rd birthday. She looks younger than me and I'm 40. Happy birthday! #gmb", while another tweeted: "@Lauratobin1 You look 23 not 43. Happy birthday!", and yet another posted: "Wow, can't believe @Lauratobin1 is 43! Happy Birthday to my fave weather person" with one more adding: "Happy Birthday Laura, no way you're 43. More like 33!"

It comes as Laura recently opened up on her future on the show, and said that while she 'loves' her job, she would like to branch out and work on other programmes.

The weather presenter, a staple on ITV's Good Morning Britain since 2014, expressed her passion for her role but is keen to expand her horizons. She shared: "I love it! I mean, I get to tell people the weather every day, and then I have like a little segment every day where I can talk about something else."

Her daily segments vary from climate reports to phenomena like the Northern Lights or extreme global rainfall, which she finds thrilling. "Whether it's like a climate report, whether it's the Northern Lights, whether it's extreme rainfall around the world - for me, weather forecasting is my first love - it's my bread and butter, it's what I do."

Laura relishes adding educational snippets to her forecasts, enhancing viewers' mornings with science. "If I can, like, jot in all of these extra bits, you know, sprinkles of science while people are having their breakfast that make it interesting - it's a dream scenario." She is enthusiastic about hosting more shows focused on climate issues, having already collaborated with the Tonight Team on projects like dietary changes to combat climate change.

"I'd love to do more shows talking about climate change. I've done some stuff with the Tonight Team looking at the multi-benefits if you want to change your diet - one thing people can do to reduce the impact of climate change is reducing food waste!"

Good Morning Britain continues on weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV X.
