Inside the family life of Bargain Hunt's Tim Weeks with wife and two children

Bargain Hunt is on BBC One with Tim Weeks starring as one of the experts, a job he describes as "a dream come true". He added: "As for the day job, I absolutely love everything about being an auctioneer - from valuation and researching to cataloguing and auctioneering, I genuinely love it.

"I'm fortunate enough to work around great people where we work very hard, but also have a lot of fun." He is director of Wessex Auction Rooms, specialising in Toy Collector's Auctions.

He had been co-presenting the BBC's Street Auction when the boss at Bargain Hunt called him, asking him to consider a screen test. Needless to say he ticked all the boxes.

Away from work, he opened up about his guilty pleasures in life, which include "coffee, chocolate and singing in my car". One how he spends his free time, he said: "Having fun and lots of madness with my wife Alexa and two children Albie and Bella. They all boss me around!"

He admitted he is no longer able to collect antiques as all of his money goes on supporting his family. He expanded: "I try not to [collect] anymore! I used to collect loads.

"Football programmes, toys, vinyls, ceramics but I tend to spend my money on the kids instead of me these days."

The family-of-four live together in beautiful Chippenham, in northwest Wiltshire.

The star may not collect anything now, but he reminisced about his biggest profits and losses during his time on Bargain Hunt.

"I once found an old scrapbook containing 1940s football newspaper cuttings at a car boot sale," he began.

"I asked how much it was and was told £40. It felt a little steep for a dirty old scrapbook until I flicked to the back pages, which had 21 wartime single sheet football programmes neatly stuck onto them, and I quickly realised it was a bargain.

"It also had match tickets, bubble gum cards and autographs. I sold it for over £1,000 after I performed the painstaking task of steaming each item out of the book."

He has been unlucky, however, after admitting his biggest loss was when he 'blind' purchased a collection of rock and film star autographs for £220.

He explained: "When they arrived they were all facsimile and worth about a tenner! Wow, it still hurts."
