Samsung Galaxy A16 4G, Galaxy A16 5G specifications leak ahead of launch

There have been several rumors in the rumor mills about the Samsung Galaxy A16 and Galaxy A16 5G. Now, it seems that both of these devices are ready to churn around the corner. The Galaxy A15 phone is going to be replaced by these said phones. The price of the 5G variant goes up at Rs 15,499. Specifications of both the Samsung Galaxy A16 4G and 5G have been leaked before the launch. The both variants boast similar hardware, save for the SoC and connectivity.

Leaks about Samsung Galaxy A16 and Galaxy A16 5G specs. Specs of the A16 and Galaxy A16 5G trickle in suggesting that there is no real upgrade over the predecessor barring a new chipset, an OS upgrade cycle and IP protection.

• Display: The Samsung Galaxy A16 and Galaxy A16 5G are also sporting a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED with a 90Hz refresh rate and 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution. This is a sizeable leap up from a 6.5-inch AMOLED panel on the Galaxy A15 5G.
• Processor: The 4G model is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 processor; the 5G variant will most probably be equipped with the Exynos 1300/Dimensity 6300+ chipset, compared to the Dimensity 6100+ of the predecessor.
• OS: The phones shall be running on Android 14 OS, and presumably, the company will provide six major Android OS updates and security patches for six years. This is a new benchmark for a mid-range phone.
• Cameras: The Samsung Galaxy A16 and Galaxy A16 5G should feature a 13MP front camera. They could support the primary camera as 50MP, ultra-wide-angle lens as 5MP, and macro shooter as 2MP. That’s the same camera arrangement supported by the Galaxy A15 5G.
• Connectivity: 5G/4G, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, USB Type-C, GPS.
• Others: Side-mounted fingerprint reader and IP54 for dust and water resistance.
• Battery: Both devices may pack a 5,000mAh battery and include 25W fast charging onboard. This is unique because the Galaxy A15 5G also packs the same battery and likewise has the same speed of fast charging.
• Dimensions: The dimension of the Samsung Galaxy A15 4G is 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.9 mm, and for the 5G, it’s the same: 164.4 x 77.9 x 7.9 mm. Both weigh 200 grams.
