Leaks and online shots of the next wave of Samsung Galaxy mid-range A-series phones are leaking out. The latest sighting is of the Samsung Galaxy A56 on Geekbench. That tells us about the possible performance of the underlying Exynos 1580 processor. We also collect that the phone has been tested with the latest Android software. Here are the details:
Samsung Galaxy A56 Geekbench scores- According to the Geekbench scorecard, the Galaxy A56 model number is SM-A566B. The ‘B’ letter indicates this is a global model.
- Single-core: 1,341 points
- Multi-core: 3,836 points
- It is better scores than Galaxy A55, with Exynos 1480 SoC, which we registered in our house test (1,148 in single-core and 3,447 in multi-core). That is a positive sign!
Exynos 1580 is also known by its codename of Santa. It is said to be on par with, if not slightly better than, 2021 chips like the Snapdragon 888 that are found in phones like the Samsung Galaxy S21. Well, the leaked Geekbench scores of Exynos 1580 are more than our Galaxy S21 Geekbench scores, viz., 896 in single-core and 3,254 in multi-core.
Samsung Galaxy A56: what else we knowFrom the Geekbench screenshot, we find out that it runs Android 15-based One UI 7.0. The company has not rolled out this software update yet.
Back on the chip, it seemingly boasts a prime core (Cortex-A720 at 2.91 GHz), three performance cores (again Cortex-A720 at 2.60GHz) and four efficiency cores (Cortex-A520 at 1.95 GHz). Its predecessor the Exynos 1480 boasts four Cortex A-78 performance cores clocked at 2.75 GHz and four Cortex-A55 running at 2.0 GHz.
Chip records shows Geekbench that this chip is based on Xclipse 540 GPU item codenamed Angle, which may be based on a more recent RDNA 3 architecture, and has a more capable NPU for AI tasks.
It comes with 8GB of RAM. More configurations are possible like the Galaxy A55. In India, this phone is available in 8/12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
