Send Push

Gmail Q&A, an AI feature that lets users ask questions about their emails, was first rolled out to the web-based version of the service earlier in the year. It then landed in the Android app last month to enable eligible users to access the capability on the go. At the time, Google said the feature would roll out to iOS devices as well soon. On Thursday, tech giant finally launched Gmail Q&A for iPhone users with compatible iOS versions.

Gmail Q&A Feature Rolls Out on iOS

Thursday saw the tech firm announce the launch of Gmail Q&A for iOS, saying it has limited accessibility to Google Workspace users, who must sign into their account on the device. It is also available on Android, where there will need to be an eligible subscription to use the feature.

Using this feature requires a subscription to either the Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, or Google One AI Premium plans.

The feature that rolls out on iOS for Gmail Q&A lets users talk to the Gemini-powered chatbot while gaining insights into emails in their inbox.

They can ask AI about their particular questions concerning their emails, ask it to display unread messages, show emails from a specific sender, summarize emails about a common topic, and get vague details of a specific email. The feature can answer all of this while having a friendly conversation with you.

Use Gmail’s Q&A Feature How

Users will be able to tap the black Gemini star – or the sparkle icon – at the right-hand top of an app in order to access the feature. Or, when inside an email thread, they can simply tap on the summarise this email chip.

With Gmail Q&A, users can also ask a rather vague question like “What was the theme of the last office party?” and Gemini will magically be able to find it by sifting through the inbox. The feature is only in English at present. The feature has presently been rolled out but can take up to 15 days before users can view its visibility on the Gmail app.
