Lords of the Fallen still keeps its sequel in development and it’ll soon arrive for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X in 2026. Yet, that title is simply known as “Project III” inside the company and, although there is no official title announced for it just now, the publisher CI Games has had some things to say about the sequel. Lords of the Fallen 2 is now fully at the production stage, and it’s going to be revealed next year. The action-RPG is still targeting a 2026 launch.

Lords of the Fallen Sequel

CI Games shed more light on the Lords of the Fallen sequel, as well as its slate of planned games for the next three years, in a financial report outlining its strategy and roadmap for the years 2025-2028. The publisher revealed that Project III, the “next major instalment in LOTF franchise,” is already in full production at developer Hexworks. Like Lords of the Fallen (2023), the sequel is being built on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5.

CI Games believes that Lords of the Fallen 2 will have “increased appeal and accessibility to both existing and wider audiences.” According to the report, the publisher elaborated that the Soulslike title will feature gameplay improvements including increased game mode optionality, more commercial art and narrative, and higher production values.

In addition, Lords of the Fallen 2 will feature “full ‘shared-progression’ co-op alongside a core single-player campaign.”.

It will be announced in 2025, “with marketing campaign leveraging strong brand awareness following significant marketing spend for Lords 23 & growing install base,” the publisher confirmed. The Lords of the Fallen 2 launch is now scheduled for sometime in 2026.

The game has been confirmed for this June and will be an Epic Games Store exclusive on PC, thanks to a deal with Epic Games-a move that hands the Fortnite maker “exclusive worldwide distribution rights” to the sequel on PC. According to CI’s latest financial report, it confirmed “major investment” from Epic for PC exclusivity.

Other Projects in Development

The other two games, which are still in the stage of pre-production, are planned to be released by 2028. The first one “Project SGW Evolved” is another game in the Sniper: Ghost Warrior series and will also work with Unreal Engine 5, as well. This one will be a survival genre game combined with the first-person shooter genre and will hit the shelves by 2027.

The second is Project H, the Underdog studio “big action-RPG IP” currently in development within the fantasy genre. The game will be developed in Unreal Engine 5 and using systems and architecture from Lords of the Fallen and Project III. Project H is targeting a 2028 release.

The reboot of Lords of the Fallen comes out this fall for the PS5, Xbox Series S/X and PC, for Steam and Epic Games Store.
