Vivo, iQOO Roll Out Android 15-Based Funtouch OS 15 Update With AI Features: What's New

Vivo and iQOO have started to roll out the Funtouch OS 15 update in India. With the rollout of the update, the companies became one of the first original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) to roll out Android 15 on handsets, leaving Samsung and Google, the tech giants, behind. The new algorithms, exciting animations, and effects powered by artificial intelligence become something of an attempt to improve the customer experience.

Vivo FuntouchOS 15 Rollout

There is no doubt the fact that the Funtouch OS 15 will be rolled out on the iQOO 12 through download in the upcoming weeks and months as confirmed by the company. Vivo, through a press release, also confirmed the rollout of the Android 15-based Funtouch OS 15 beta update on their Vivo X Fold 3 Pro and X100 series.

The changelog for the update reveals that Funtouch OS 15 comes equipped with a new smart scheduling algorithm touted to provide appropriate computing power to different apps and tasks according to their priority level and requirements. Additionally, it optimizes the system’s dynamic effects which feel significantly more natural due to the new Origin animation. Optimizing this too enhances tactical response with promises for improvement in user experience.

Funtouch OS 15 brings a number of static and live wallpapers with different styles. The always-on display styles also got a boost, fingerprint recognition animations now contain four designs, and the library of icons is optimized. Apart from those, here Memory Movie, document shadow elimination, clean-up suggestions, and new quick settings for the Ultra Game Mode were added.

Such as customization options, the Android 15 update for Vivo smartphones brings in AI features to it. One of them includes AI Photo Enhance, which optimizes various image parameters to enhance the quality of the image as a whole. It also gets an AI Erase feature that, following the name, is an object removal tool that can remove elements from images. All these features are part of the new AI Image Lab. The other is the live transcribe, which claims to transcript spoken on-screen content.

The update also has cross-device compatibility with a new and enhanced version of the Link to Windows feature. Users can keep contacts in sync, share files, and view the latest photos in real-time from several devices. In addition, the S-Capture feature has also been redesigned and now supports multiple audio tracks for annotation as well as screen recording. It further comes equipped with a control panel that allows for setting options for the microphone and system sound recordings.
