Gemini Live Two-Way Communication Feature Now Available for All Android Users: How to Use

Send Push

Now, this two-way voice chat feature of Google AI chatbot, known as Gemini Live, is available to all Android users. The company had already rolled out the feature in the first place for Gemini Advanced users via the Google One AI Premium plan, and it’s now making this available to all of them. But the basics of this feature can only be enjoyed by users. The free tier does not include ten different voices. A report earlier this month indicates that Google was rolling the feature to all users using Android.

Gemini Live Feature Now Available to All Android Users

Since the Gemini app is not available for iOS, iPhone users cannot access the Gemini Live. Android users, conversely, now see a waveform icon with the sparkle icon at the bottom-right corner of the microphone and camera icon if they possess a compatible device with the Gemini app installed.

Accessing the Gemini Live is going to be reached by tapping on the waveform icon. In simple words, it is a two-way voice chat feature where both the user and the AI respond via speech. Like the Advanced Voice Mode feature for ChatGPT, it does not resemble but speaks fluently with slight modulation of the voice.

The feature is still useful if the user is on-the-go and would more like to have a verbal conversation to know about the summary of an email or about an interesting topic. The full screen interface of Gemini Live resembles a phone call. Users will see a sound wave like pattern at the center of the screen and a hold and end buttons placed at the bottom. If you’re interested in using the feature, here’s how you can do it.

Using Gemini Live Feature

Download and install the Gemini app on an Android device.
Open the Gemini app.
Look for the waveform icon at the bottom-right of the screen.
Tap on it.
First-time users will see a terms and conditions menu. Accept it.
Now you can see the Gemini Live interface.
You may start talking to provoke the AI to reply.
Using the Hold button lets you interrupt the AI for an answer to another prompt.
