Beirut, September 30 (Udaipur Kiran) – Conducting a series of drone attacks very early Monday morning against Hezbollah, Israel targeted Lebanon’s capital city of Beirut. The attacks in the city killed at least four people in one building. At least three leaders of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine have been confirmed dead so far.

Since Sunday, it has been bombing residential areas of Beirut, and so far, there have been no Israeli reports to confirm the losses or debris amid the streets of Beirut. The PFLP released a statement to The Times of Israel, confirming that three of its top leaders have been killed in an Israeli attack on a building in the Cola district of Beirut at midnight. Khartoum, Sudanese capital, reportedly bore the brunt of the attack. There were initial suspicions that the attack had been carried out by another terrorist organization, Al-Jama’a al-Islamiyya (Islamic Group). The group, however has denied involvement. Israel’s military has not yet commented on the strikes.

Israel has stepped up its strikes against the Iran-backed armed groups. During the weekend, Israeli forces bombarded Hezbollah positions in Lebanon, killing 45 fighters and a senior commander named Nabil Kawak, who was the deputy head of Hezbollah’s central committee. Israeli aircraft have also bombarded several sites belonging to the Houthi rebels in Yemen.
