PlayStation Network Services Suffer Massive Outage, Removing Access to PlayStation Store and Games

All of the platforms have faced disabled services of PlayStation Network, which means that there is no access to various PSN features, PlayStation Store, and several games. Affected users cannot sign in to their PSN account or go online. PlayStation Plus services are down as well. Sony has only now confirmed that some of the services in its PlayStation Network are under attack. The outage affects users on PS5, PS4, PS3, PS Vita, as well as those trying to connect with PSN services via Web and other means of access.

PSN Downtime

Its PSN Service Status page confirmed an outage, which stated that Account management, Gaming and social, and PlayStation Store services have been affected. “You might have trouble launching games, apps or network features. We’re working to fix the issue as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience,” the page added.

Gadgets 360 can confirm that it is indeed PSN network outage that is affecting users in India too. With regard to the write of this article, both PlayStation Store and PSN account are still inaccessible. On the PS5, the PlayStation Store launch gives the message “Can’t load. Something went wrong, Please try again later.”

Many games are stuck on the first launch screen and accessing PlayStation Network status within Settings just opens up the same Web page saying that something has gone wrong with the network. The PSN account remains Offline too, besides services of PS Plus.

Without multi-player games working, one could access a few solo games. Games requiring PSN connectivity cannot be accessed as well.

It’s unclear what caused the PlayStation Network around the world to be taken down, but Sony is already working on bringing its services back online. It’s unclear how long it would take to resolve all of the issues, and we will update this story in the event of further developments.
