Udaipur: The tourism season has begun, and jeep safaris will resume in all tiger reserves and sanctuaries across the state from October 1st. The forest department in the Udaipur division, including Jaisamand, Kumbhalgarh, and Bassi sanctuaries, has completed preparations.

As a special initiative, Kumbhalgarh sanctuary will offer a free safari to 100 children on the first day. Local school students will be educated about wildlife during this safari. The sanctuary offers two safari rounds, and 53 vehicles are registered for this purpose.

In Jaisamand sanctuary, Udaipur district, the department has repaired the tracks. Here too, safaris will operate in two rounds, from 6 AM to 9 AM and 4 PM to 6 PM. Currently, 5 vehicles are operational, and the safari ticket costs Rs. 649 per person.

Tickets can be booked both online and offline. It should be noted that jeep safaris in all sanctuaries and tiger reserves remain closed from July 1st to September 30th every year during the monsoon.

In Jaisamand, there are two tracks of 14 km and 22 km. Jeep safaris were started in Jaisamand sanctuary in May last year. This forest is home to various wildlife species including leopards, wild boars, bears, nilgai, peacocks, and monkeys. The sanctuary gate is located on the Udaipur-Banswara highway.
